Improvements on the A403 are part of a challenge fund

The new M49 junction, part of the Government’s £15 billion road investment programme, will improve road access and a much-needed connection into Avonmouth and Severnside, and help support economic growth and employment.

A public information event was staged at Easter Compton Village Hall on Thursday, 21 July 2016.

Highways England expected to select a preferred design option by autumn 2016 following ongoing discussions with local stakeholders, businesses and the community.  Construction could start by late 2017.

Additional information is also available on the Highways England project website which will be kept updated.
