WE NEED YOU !!

The role of the Parish Council is to act on behalf of residents to ensure the parish continues to be a fabulous place in which to live.  Due to its number of widely used amenities the Parish of Olveston is unique in South Gloucestershire.

The Council is divided into four Committees- Recreation and Leisure, Planning, Finance and Projects.  Each Committee meets once a month with a full Council Meeting on the fourth Tuesday in the month at 7.30 in the Queen Alexandra Memorial Pavilion.  We aim to keep the length of meetings to a maximum of two hours.

Olveston Parish Council should have 9 members - at present we are 3 Councillors short and need to bring the number up to our full quota.  We understand that this would be a further commitment in the modern world where everyone leads busy lives.  However as active parishioners you will be involved in the decision making which is now being devolved to us on a more regular basis from South Glos Council who is in turn having to accept more responsibilities from Central Government.

We know there are many people in The Parish (Olveston, Tockington, Old Down, surrounding hamlets and the local area) who could bring additional and valuable skills to the Council – so please come and join us

If you are interested, contact the Chairman (This email address is being protected from spambots. Thank you
